Born in Samara in 1900.
In 1913 attended the Bogolyubovskoye Drawing School of Saratov.
In 1916 attended the O.I. Schlefling Art School of Tiflis.
From 1921 to 1929 studied under N.N. Kupreyanov, P.Y. Pavlinov, V.A. Favorsky and P.V. Miturich at the VKhUTEMAS (VKhUTEIN) graphic arts and publishing department and the I.I. Nivinsky etching studio.
From 1929 exhibited his works.
From 1955 headed the I.I. Nivinsky etching studio.
Died in Moscow in 1981.
